Crantock beach can be clearly seen from the Pentire headland, where you can park your car in the pay and display car pak, so go and check it out. Crantock beach has a lifeguard service that runs from 10-6 in the summer so it is safe for bathing ect, but be carfeul around the river mouth as there can somtimes be some strong currents in the river.
If you want to drive to Crantock beach, leave Newquay and head for Crantock, locate Beach Road - it's signoposted and it will take you to the beach carpark. This is a National Trust carpark, so bonus if you are a member, but if you're not be prepared to pay more than you think you should.
